4A.10 Overheating

The Mayor will, and boroughs should strongly encourage development that avoids internal overheating and excessive heat generation and contributes to the prevention of further over-heating, especially where the urban heat island is most intense.

Developers should demonstrate how development could be made heat resilient in design, construction and operation. The Mayor will work with partners to reduce the heat island effect through energy efficiency and appropriate design.
