Housing policies
In line with the concept of a sustainable and compact city, future residential development needs to be located so as to maximise the use of scarce land, to conserve energy, reduce harmful emissions and to be within easy access of jobs, schools, healthcare and other services, shops, and public transport. The provision of new housing should also help support economic growth and offer a range of choices for new households, including affordable housing.
