Central activities zone policies
The Central Activities Zone (CAZ) contains a unique cluster of vitally important activities including central government offices, headquarters and embassies, the largest concentration of London's financial and business services sector and the offices of trade, professional bodies, institutions, associations, communications, publishing, advertising and the media.
Other key uses and activities, such as those associated with retail, tourism, culture and entertainment, are also concentrated in CAZ, together with London's two 'International' shopping centres (as defined in Annex 1), centred on the West End and Knightsbridge. Though the CAZ is small in geographical and population terms, it contains nearly 30% of all London's jobs and is projected to accommodate 36% of London's employment growth to 2026
