Sunshine Garden 2006

Sunshine garden 2006In 2006 the Mayor, working with the Royal Horticultural Society, demonstrated ways in which gardeners can reduce the amount of water they use in his Sunshine Garden at Hampton Court Flower Show. Designed to resemble a typical back garden, the garden brought to life how different fruits, flowers, shrubs, grasses and vegetables can be selected to build your very own Sunshine Garden without losing out on style and colour.

The garden is now being displayed at London Zoo.

Sunshine garden 2006The garden contains a compost bin, wormery, water butts, living roof, insect hotel, examples of Mediterranean plants and drought tolerant varieties that will thrive in drier conditions. The garden is made entirely of recycled and sustainable products.
