There's Maudie the sixteen year old, run away waif haunted by her past, waiting for the release of forgiveness. And there’s the Irish blackguard Francisco, who doesn’t want anything…

An exhibition of engaging and moving photos of Irish Emigration to the UK.

This exhibition shows images from four separate photographic collections concerning Irish emigration to the UK, especially to London. The selection of images looks at emigration across generations and the themes include music, nightlife, street life, tradition, religion, politics and faces of emigration.

Led by Dr Tony Murray of the Irish Studies Centre at London Metropolitan University, it will consist of illustrated talks about the history, culture and present day position of the London Irish and participants will leave with a detailed knowledge and insight into this influential and vibrant community.
