Preparing for the parade

10:30am to 12noon, Children’s Library, Willesden Green Library Centre
Be transported to Ireland whilst listening to a selection of stories. Plus get ready for the parade in style by creating your own flag to take to the procession.

Parade

2pm, Willesden Green tube station, Walm Lane
Featuring performers from across the borough, costumes from the world-renowned carnival professionals Mahogany and music from the award-winning Dublin All Stars 30 piece marching band.

Music Stage

2 to 7pm, Outside the Willesden Green Library Centre in the Scoop
2 to 2:30pm – London Irish Symphony Orchestra - let this quartet of Irish musicians transport you to the grassy glens of sunny Ireland.
2:30 to 3pm – The parade arrives with music from the marching band; The Dublin All Stars.
3 tp 3:10pm – The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Bertha Joseph. The blessing of the shamrock with the parish priest of St Mary Magdalen’s Church.
3.10 to 3:30pm – McCarthy School of Irish Dance – sample some traditional Irish dancing and costumes from this local dance school
3:30 to 4:30pm – Neck – get ready to rock with the legendary world touring Celtic rock and roll heroes.
4:30 to 4:45pm – Bruce Airhead – comedy cabaret featuring the metamorphosis of a man and a six-foot balloon.
4:45 to 5:45pm – Céilí with the Celtic Colleens – dust off your dancing shoes and take to the floor.
5:45 to 6pm – McCarthy School of Irish Dance.
6 to 7pm – Cushtie - enjoy the sounds of traditional Irish country and folk music from this local trio.

Brent Artists Resource Gallery

3 to 5pm, The Gallery, Willesden Green Library Centre
The Gallery will be showcasing work from ten Irish artists based in London to celebrate Irish culture and talent.
3 to 4pm, Music from the London Irish Symphony Orchestra.

Traditional Fayre

Foyer, Willesden Green Library Centre
Don’t miss your chance to sample some traditional Irish food, refreshments and crafts from the market stalls around the foyer.

Watch out for the leprechaun who will guide you to Eddie Lenihan, the highly acclaimed, traditional storyteller, and Kate Corkery with her stories full of song, laughter, myths and legends.

Brent Museum

Upstairs at Willesden Green Library Centre
A temporary photo exhibition of work by Paddy Fahey, an established Irish photographer living and working in London.

Family Fun

2 to 6pm, Upstairs in Studio One, Willesden Green Library Centre
No Strings Attached – fancy being part of the circus? Test out your skills, learn how to juggle, ride the unicycle and walk the tightrope.
Fat Fishy Productions – let your creativity run wild and make some shamrock bunting, carnival masks and rainbow mobiles.
Clown Bert – will also be bringing a smile to your face with his show at various times during the afternoon.
