This section will guide you through the process of finding average private sector rental prices in your area.

Finding average prices

Where do I start?

All you need to know is a London location and the size of the property you wish to saerch for!

Enter this London location and select the property type on the London Rents homepage or on the right hand side of all other pages on the site. After clicking the "submit" button you will be asked to refine your search.

I've entered a location and property type, now what?

You'll be asked to refine your search. There are three possible outcomes:

  1. You'll see links to one or more possible results. Click on the one that best fits your location. See this search for the location "Oxford Street" as an example.

  2. Your search may return no results. You'll be then asked to refine your search by entering something more generic (such as a locality or a post code district, e.g. BR1). See this search for the location "Sherwood Forest" as an example.

  3. Your search may return many results. You'll be then asked to refine your search by entering something more specific (such as a post code district or street name, e.g. BR1). See this search for the location "High Street" as an example.

Please check the spelling of your search as you may have mistyped the location name.

I've found the right location. What am I seeing now?

Once you click on your desired location you should be forwarded onto a page showing private sector rental data in that post code district. On this page you'll see a map of the post code district and its surrounding areas above a table of the median, lower and upper quartile figures for that area.

Please note that if there are no results for your selected area then you'll see a message asking you to refine your search.

What's a post code district?

A post code district is often described as the first part of a British post code. London examples include "SE1", "BR9", "NW11" and "TW1".
