A river of opportunities...
The river provides a great opportunity to give more Londoners a better way of getting around, which will also reduce the squeeze on our buses and trains.
Improving river services and routes across the Thames
- Introducing Pay as You Go Oyster card ticketing on Thames Clipper Services, integrating Thames ticketing and information with other forms of London transport
- forming the River Concordat – an agreement between river operators and pier owners to work together
- extending our piers – so more people can travel by river
- researching new river crossings giving people in east London more options for crossing the river
- making the most of 2012 to provide a lasting legacy of great river transport for London.
