DMPC decisions
The Mayor of London will exercise a number of functions under the Act which cannot be delegated. These are:
- Issuing a police and crime plan
- Making recommendations in relation to the appointment of the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis
- Making recommendations in relation to the appointment of the Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis
- Being consulted in relation to the appointment or removal of an Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis or a Commander
- Suspending the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolis, or calling upon the Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner to retire or resign
The DMPC will exercise a number of functions under the Act which cannot be delegated. These are:
- Determining police and crime objectives
- Attending meetings of the Police and Crime Committee when requested
- Preparing an annual report to the Police and Crime Committee
Additionally, all significant, contentious or novel decisions will be agreed by the DMPC.
