August 2011 Public Disorder

Following the August 2011 disturbances in London a Recovery Coordination Group was set up to help the public, local authorities and businesses across the capital get back to work and repair the damage that was done. 

The group included representatives from key members of the London Resilience Partnership, including affected London boroughs, the Greater London Authority, London Councils, the Metropolitan Police and London Fire Brigade and reported to the London Local Resilience Forum.

Incidents such as those experienced in August are extremely rare, but it is sensible for residents and businesses to plan for any kind of emergency.
