Free Games tickets for schools

The Mayor has secured 125,000 free Games tickets to ensure that 1 in 8 London schoolchildren can watch the Games in 2012.

Schools and colleges were invited to register their interest by joining the Get Set network by Friday 16 December 2011.

Get Set for the Games!

Get Set is the official London 2012 education programme for the UK’s schools, colleges and local authority education providers. Driven by an interactive website, it gives young people the chance to explore the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of courage, determination, equality and inspiration.

LOCOG has secured 50,000 tickets to distribute to children in London schools and colleges taking part in the London 2012 Get Set Education Programme. The tickets have been donated by Prestige Ticketing Ltd which will operate the official London 2012 hospitality programme. This is called the London 2012 Ticket Share scheme.

The GLA will provide an additional 75 000 Olympic and Paralympic Games tickets for distribution to children and young people in London, also through the Get Set education programme.

Combined with LOCOG’s Ticket Share scheme, this means a total of 125,000 tickets will be available to London’s schools and colleges, and gives 1 in 8 young Londoners aged 10-18 the chance to see the Games firsthand for free.

To be first in line for an allocation of these tickets next year, schools and colleges need to show how they are making the most of the London 2012 Games and living the Olympic and Paralympic Values. Register now and join the Get Set network.
