Host borough opportunities
The six ‘host boroughs’ (London boroughs that have an official Games venue) have some of the lowest employment rates in our city, and the Games are providing thousands of opportunities for local residents.
The Host Borough Employment and Skills Project has been set up to help residents in Barking & Dagenham, Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest find sustained employment in Games-related and wider jobs.
If you live in one of the host boroughs and would like more information on this programme, you can speak to a host borough Olympic jobs advisor by phoning:
- 0845 155 2012
There are also thousands of opportunities being created in the private sector, and some fantastic skills and training opportunities. More information can be found throughout this website. And you can also contact your local Jobcentre to find out more about opportunities working on the Games.
2012 Employment Legacy
The Mayor is funding the 2012 Employment Legacy project to help jobless Londoners access Games-related roles, sign up with contractors in the pre-Games period and go on to secure sustained employment
Be part of delivering a successful Games and have the kudos of the Games on your CV!
If you live in London, have not been in the jobs market recently and are interested in this opportunity please call 0844 499 4517 or visit www.seetec.co.uk/jobseekers/2012_jobs.aspx .

The Construction Employer Accord (CEA) project aims to help workless Londoners find jobs in construction on Olympic sites before, during and after the Games when the Park will undergo transformation for future use, and on other construction sites across London.
CEA helps workless Londoners get job ready and receive the necessary training to get a job on a construction site, including support to move between jobs on different sites as projects finish and others get underway.
If you are a resident of a London borough and are out of work and interested in finding out more about working in construction then please call 020 7926 0082.
