The Mayor is working with housing associations to deliver more and better homes for Londoners.
Working with housing associations to deliver our housing strategy
Housing associations are the key investment partners for delivering new affordable homes.
Housing associations are not for profit organisations that provide affordable housing for social renting and low cost home ownership. They range in size and purpose – from very small specialist associations to large-scale organisations with different arms providing a variety of services.
The largest housing associations in London have formed a group called the g15, which works closely with the Mayor, central government, London boroughs and with the private and voluntary sector.
The Mayor is working with housing associations to:
- deliver new affordable housing
- improve the quality of new affordable housing
- deliver 1,250 new supported homes
- roll out the Accessible Housing Register across London, along with the London boroughs
- reduce overcrowding and under-occupation of social rented homes.
