London schools and our children conference
Raising aspiration and achievement amongst black children
The 'London schools and our children' conference in November 2011, saw parents, teachers and key agencies come together to help address educational under-achievement.
To maintain London's position as a global success it has never been more important that all young Londoners make the most of their education.
Too many of our young people are still not realising their potential and run the risk of making bad choices in their lives. Too many young people do not feel that there is enough on offer to them. School exclusions remain a huge issue, with a clear link between educational exclusion, social exclusion and youth crime and violence.
On the positive side there has been a steady improvement in the performance of black and ethnic minority young Londoners at school.
