Mayor Boris Johnson launched the Mayor's Air Quality Fund in February 2013 to help improve London’s air quality.
The fund gives boroughs and partners match-funding towards new schemes and projects designed to improve air quality.
The first round of funding is for the period 2013/14 to 2015/16. The £6m pot is helping a range of projects including freight consolidation; green walls; reducing construction emissions; responsive digital signage to reduce idling; support for low emission vehicles; and business engagement, educational and awareness-raising projects.
The next round of funding starts in April 2016. It will open for applications in early 2015. An application form and guidance will be published here shortly.
We expect the fund to provide £20m in total over ten years.
