London’s environment needs to be maintained and protected and its resources (water, energy and waste) used more efficiently. We are working hard to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions in London, to help tackle climate change and increase the city’s resilience to extreme weather. We are also enhancing London’s green and open space and developing the capital’s ‘green economy’– all with the aim of improving Londoners’ quality of life.
In a new move to secure London’s future energy supply and boost investment and growth in London’s low carbon economy, the Mayor is bidding to enable small electricity producers to sell power to the market at a better rate.
