Working with London boroughs
We’re working with London’s boroughs and the City of London Corporation so that London’s public services continue to improve and be delivered as efficiently as possible.
There are 33 London boroughs, including the City of London Corporation. Each is managed by a local council that is responsible for administering the borough, and for the on-the-ground delivery of public services such as housing, refuse collection and schools.
Working together to deliver the Mayor's vision for London
As the strategic authority for London the GLA works closely with the boroughs to deliver on the Mayor’s long-term strategy for London, ensuring that even at a local level, the ‘big picture’ view of London is taken into account.
The Mayor sets his pan-London vision and strategy and he uses his position and influence to ensure that the boroughs help us deliver on that vision.
The Mayor and London’s boroughs have committed themselves to the first ever City Charter for London. This groundbreaking new agreement commits the Mayor and London’s boroughs to work together more closely in order to improve the capital’s public services and deliver better value for money for London taxpayers.
