We're working hard to champion London

We’re working hard to champion London at home and abroad to make sure our city sustains the success and reputation it deserves as one of the best big cities in the world and a truly great place to live, work and visit.

London is one the world’s greatest and most successful cities. It is a global leader in business and finance and its educational, retail and visitor attractions are second to none. It is also the driving force of the UK economy.

These characteristics bring huge financial benefits both to London and the UK as a whole. We want London’s contribution to be recognised. That’s why we’re working hard to champion London.

We’re:

• Lobbying national government, parliament and others to support London and to make sure they do what they can for Londoners.
• Working to ensure London gets the investment it needs to tackle the capital’s problems, such as a lack of affordable housing and high levels of child poverty.
• Working with London’s boroughs and the City Corporation so that London’s public services continue to improve and are delivered as efficiently as possible.
• Making sure London remains a global magnet for business and talent by developing key international relationships and working with other organisations internationally to promote London’s interests abroad.
• Making sure our interests are heard and taken into account by EU policymakers when new initiatives legislation and policies are developed.
