London Finance Commission

The London Finance Commission was established by the Mayor after his election in May 2012 to help improve the tax and public spending arrangements for London in order to promote jobs and growth.

The independent Commission chaired by Professor Tony Travers met on a monthly basis from July 2012 to April 2013, examining the potential for greater devolution of both taxation and the control of resources (capital and revenue) and developing recommendations about the financing of London government.
