Gigs in the Mayor of London's annual busking competition for young Londoners.
Performances took place at high profile London locations between 18 July and 8 August, including St Paul’s Churchyard, Paddington Central, Westfield London, Westfield Stratford City and Network Rail stations including Kings Cross, Victoria, Euston, Liverpool Street and London Bridge. An industry judging panel and the public will choose the acts that will go forward to the Grand Final.
18 acts competed in the Gigs Grand Final which took place on Sunday 6 September at Westfield Stratford City and saw Luca Fiore crowned as Gigs Champion 2015.
Luca is a 22 year old singer songwriter, originally from Italy, and now lives in Hounslow. On winning Luca said: "I have enjoyed every minute busking on London's streets. This competition has given me an incredible platform to build my confidence and ability to perform in front of large crowds." As the winner of the Soloists and Duos category, Luca wins a money cannot by prize of an official licence to busk on London Underground.
