Floral Bicycle Parade

Floral bikeGive your bike some flower power and join in the floral bicycle parade around the Southbank Centre! Bring along bicycles, trikes, scooters, prams, buggies, unicycles, helmets and clothing decorated with flowers, plants, vegetables, mascots and handmade banners and decorations. Be as wild and wacky as you like with your ideas and use recycled materials and homegrown plants. Come in fancy dress or decorate your outfits and bicycle helmets.

Barclays Cycle Hire bikes are also available to hire for use during the floral bicycle parade. Standard charges apply. See www.tfl.gov.uk/barclayscyclehire for details.

Feeder rides to the Southbank Centre are being organised by local cycling groups. Cyclists travelling from Haringey will be riding from Bruce Castle Museum to the Southbank, setting off at 2pm. Rides are also being organised from Clapham Junction - see http://lcc.org.uk/events/floral-bicycle-parade-feeder-ride - and Greenwich - http://lewishamcyclists.co.uk/eventsrides/.

TFL's Community Safety, Enforcement and Policing Team will also be on hand to offer cyclists advice on cycling safety and will be offering free cycle security marking.

Floral Bicycle Parade starts at 4pm at the Southbank Centre Square doors to Royal Festival Hall.

Bike decoration stations will be on hand to assist with bike decoration on The High Street (Level 1 outside Royal Festival Hall) from 2pm till 4pm, provided in association with Arenaflowers.com.
