We were hit by floral fever at Hornsey Library last Saturday 6 August. Our challenge was to decorate with as many hand-made flowers as possible an old bike that will be on display as part of the Festival of Britain and Story of London Festival programme.
It is amazing what you can make out of a 1 litre plastic bottle, a kitchen roll, a doily and scrap paper … and with the guiding hand of Kiki the artist we created a full herbaceous border of flowery delights, that Monty Don and Alan Titchmarsh would be proud of.

The Museum of London is thrilled to be coordinating the third Story of London festival on behalf of the Mayor of London.
We have looked back into our archives to discover how the Festival of Britain was embraced and celebrated by Londoners in 1951 and this has generated five new exhibitions which are now on display in five venues across London (Brent, Barking & Dagenham, Haringey, Redbridge and Wandsworth).
