Barking Abbey Green and Central Park in Dagenham, 10am – 4pm
England and St George workshops for schools with activities from flag making to dance and music, culminates with St George re-enacting the slaying of the dragon, falconry displays, grand finale will be a jousting bout featuring St George in battle.

Barking Town Square, 11am - 3pm
Wheelchair dance display by Thameside Wheelchair Association and tea dance and performance from Barking and Dagenham Community Music Service combined choir and string group. Participatory mural creating artwork with dragons, shields and St George.

Barking Learning Centre, 10.30am - 3pm
Talk on English traditions and emblems, St George’s Day quiz and decorations with anecdotes from the local community about what it means to be English.

Eastbrookend Country Park, 10am – 4pm
Arts and crafts activities including knights and dragon collage, kite making and a themed quiz trail around the park.

Eastbury Manor House
Rose of England sing-a-long and children’s art and craft workshops and storytelling and St George’s Day quiz on Sat 24 April.

Mass attended by the Chapter and Cathedral Friends. The relic of St George will be on display.

A Day in the Life of Marylebone, St George’s Day 23 April
Photographers, both amateur and professional alike, are invited to snap their best shot of local life celebrating St George’s Day in Marylebone London W1.The winner will secure a place on the walls at the annual Art in Marylebone show in June 2010. Prize for the ‘best shot’ winner and 2 runner up prizes. All fifty photographs will also be bound into a commemorative book. Photographs must be digitally captured (camera, SLR, phone camera, etc).
