About Big Dance
Big Dance is the ultimate dance experience. The biennial festival from 7-15 July 2012 features 9 days of dance and dancing in unusual spaces throughout the UK - in public squares, parks, galleries, shopping centres and lidos - showcasing the diversity of dance styles across the country.
Big Dance is London’s Legacy Trust UK programme delivered by the Mayor of London in partnership with Arts Council England now joined by the Foundation for Community Dance and the Big Dance Hubs to lead the national programme.
There were 850 events in Big Dance 2010, and next year’s Big Dance promises to be even bigger and better.

Dance your way to a Guinness World Record
Join schools around the world in the Guinness World Record attempt for the ‘Largest Dance Routine – Multi Venue’ on 18 May 2012.
Simply download the Big Dance Schools Pledge choreography by Wayne McGregor CBE, learn it and take part at your school site or public space and share a unique moment in time as the Olympic torch arrives in the UK.
