"Independent Assembly Member Richard Barnbrook will be spending the next few months visiting various care homes around London finding out the issues that concern staff and residents in the delivery of care for the elderly in London.

BNP GLA Assembly member Richard Barnbrook questioned Mayor Boris Johnson last month on the unsustainably high cost of translations being met by the Metropolitan Police budget.
Even Boris seemed surprised at the huge £10,663,064 cost. Commented Richard “with public sector money about to be slashed across the board, it seems ridiculous that spends on Translation costs can go up unchecked and called for these high costs to be reduced. He further added “it is incumbent on those that come here to live and work that they should speak and be able to understand a modicum of English”!

At Mayor’s Question time at London’s City Hall today the BNP’s Richard Barnbrook caused controversy by submitting two questions directly towards Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.
There was a degree of consternation amongst other Assembly Members when AM Barnbrook offered to donate a day’s wages to a charity for the elderly in support of his first question.

A plenary session of London Assembly today saw the two Green members put forward a motion concerning an amnesty for the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants currently residing in London.
The move sparked a fierce debate with the BNP’s Richard Barnbrook who argued that this country didn’t have the resources to sustain unlimited levels of population growth and stealth immigration.. In response Labour’s Navin Shah accused Mr Barnbrook of engaging in a “deplorable rant” and group leader John Biggs described his comments as “disgusting”.

In response to a report by CORGI, the UK’s gas safety watchdog, which revealed that London has topped the list of UK regions that are most at risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, Richard Barnbrook AM said:
“This research reveals that the average Londoner has an alarming lack of knowledge about carbon monoxide, which is putting their lives at risk. I urge all Londoners to fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm and have their gas appliances checked annually by a CORGI registered installer to prevent any further tragedies.”
