Responding to a survey of West Ham supporters’ views on moving the Team’s home to the Olympic Stadium London Assembly Conservatives’ Olympic spokesman, Andrew Boff said:

 

"This poll shows West Ham supporters hold the same opinion as football fans all over the world: grounds with athletic tracks round the pitch don't work. It didn't work in Munich, it didn't work in Barcelona and it won't work in London. And by not working the consequence will be that the tax payer picks up the bill for this refusal to accept this fact.

Andrew Boff was today elected unopposed as leader of the London Assembly Conservative Group.

The Group also re-elected Richard Tracey, Assembly member for Merton and Wandsworth as Deputy Leader.

Croydon and Sutton member, Steve O’Connell, was elected unopposed to the whip’s post following Victoria Borwick’s appointment as Statutory Deputy Mayor.

London Assembly member, Andrew Boff has welcomed Boris’s initiative to help people in Barking & Dagenham, Hackney and Waltham Forest insulate themselves against fast-rising fuel prices.

News from Andrew Boff: Investigate 20mph speed limit on Blackfriars Bridge, Andrew Boff tells Mayor

In a meeting of the London Assembly today, Andrew Boff AM called on Mayor Boris Johnson to “investigate the advantages and disadvantages of a 20mph speed limit on Blackfriars Bridge”.

 

Londonwide Assembly Member, Mr Boff’s request came in a debate on the speed limit on Blackfriars Bridge, following the limit reverting to 30mph recently.

 

He wants to see Transport for London fully investigate the consequences introducing a lower speed limit on the safety of cyclist and drivers, as well as traffic flow either end of the bridge.

London Assembly member, Andrew Boff, has said that the Wellcome Trust’s proposals for the Olympic Park are an “an extremely bad deal for the tax payer”.

Boris Johnson should “reject out of hand” the changes to the London Plan suggested by the Planning Inspector, according to the London Assembly Conservative Group Planning spokesman Andrew Boff.


His call came in response to the Planning Inspector, who is scrutinising the London Plan, contradicting the Mayor’s policies by recommending that the capital “should aspire towards securing 50% of all new housing as affordable housing”.

Mayor says "The Royal Docks is going to be one of the great growth and success stories over the next 20-30 years"

 

 

Andrew Boff, London wide Assembly Member, has today questioned the Mayor on the new Enterprise Zone he secured for the Royal Docks area of east London. The Enterprise Zone will introduce tax and regulatory breaks for the locality in an effort to unlock the Docks economic potential and encourage businesses to invest and regenerate the area. The plans for Royal Docks could lead to 6000 new jobs by 2014.

London Assembly Conservative Group Olympic spokesman, Andrew Boff, has condemned the reported decision to hand the 2012 stadium over to West Ham once the Games end.

Speaking after media reported that the Olympic Park Legacy Company has opted for the West Ham bid, Mr Boff said:

“If it is true that West Ham has secured the Olympic Stadium, then it is a terrible decision.

“The West Ham bid will cost the tax payer £40million; the Spurs bid would have cost nothing.
