Economy Committee – Final demand: Personal problem debt in London

12:00-1:00pm – Southwark Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

Jenny Jones AM, Chair of the London Assembly Economy Committee, will visit a local Citizens Advice Bureau to launch ‘Final demand’, a report into personal problem debt in the capital. She will be joined by the Chief Executive of Southwark CAB Chris Green, debt advisors David Adam and Toks Arambi and CAB clients – all will be available for interviews.

Transport Committee – TfL’s Customer Services

TfL’s relationship with its customers has to change. Contactless payment, ticket offices closures, social media and new regulatory requirements are creating unique challenges for customers and operators alike. The London Assembly Transport Committee Deputy Chair, Valerie Shawcross CBE AM, has completed an investigation into the customer service offered by TfL. The investigation has highlighted a number of inconsistencies, which are noted in ‘TfL Customer Service: Next Steps’.

High Street Regeneration

Regeneration Committee – 10:00am in Committee Room 5

The Regeneration Committee will discuss high street regeneration, reviewing the objectives and outcomes of the Mayor’s regeneration funds and the Mayor’s work with the LEP on other funding streams to support high streets - including the New Homes Bonus and the Growth Deal. London Legacy Development Corporation

London Assembly (Plenary) 10:00am in the Chamber

The London Assembly will examine the policies and work of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC). This will involve questioning:

Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, in his capacity as Chairman of the London Legacy Development Corporation

David Goldstone CBE, Chief Executive, LLDC

Topics to be covered include the Olympicopolis; Sustained Legacy; the future financial performance of the LLDC, and an industrial legacy for the Olympics.

Youth reoffending and resettlement in London

Police and Crime Committee – 10:00am in the Chamber

The Police and Crime Committee will discuss the evidence heard to date in their investigation into youth reoffending in London, which examines the extent of youth reoffending in London and support available to young offenders. The Committee will hear from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) about their role in supporting different agencies and helping to stop young people from committing further offences.
