Local Assembly Member John Biggs is asking local residents to tell him about their experiences of the 25 bus route. The call follows the revelation that it is the fourth most complained about of London's 700 bus routes.
The 25 route that runs between Oxford Circus and Ilford via Stratford received no less than 33 complaints in four weeks.
Local London Assembly member, John Biggs said:
"We are paying more and getting less. In January Mayor Boris Johnson raised fares by 5.6%; with people's incomes being squeezed this is the last thing they need. Now we discover our local buses are not performing. It’s time the Mayor got a grip and delivered the high quality bus service local residents pay for. Since 2008 bus fares have gone up by 50%, from 90p a journey to £1.35."
