Winter blues this year for A&E?

  • What challenges do London’s Accident & Emergency (A&E) services face this winter? Is London well-prepared?
  • How satisfied are patients with A&E services in London? What do they like and dislike about existing services?
  • Who is most likely to visit an A&E department? Are some groups more reliant on these services?

The Health Committee will tomorrow hear from a number of health representatives to discuss A&E and urgent care in London.

The following guests will be questioned:

  • Dr Julian Redhead, Chair, London Region, Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
  • Dr Andy Mitchell, Medical Director, NHS England (London).
  • Conor Burke, Co-Chair, Urgent and Emergency Care Transformation Programme and Chief Officer of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge CCGs.
  • Lorna Reith, Chief Executive, Healthwatch Enfield.
  • Ian Niven, Chair, Healthwatch Brent.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, 9 December at 10:00am in Committee Room 3 at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
