Contractors

To keep Parliament Square Garden and Trafalgar Square in the best possible condition, the GLA works with a number of contractors. On any given day, there could be many different people on the square – below are details of some of the people you might see on Parliament Square.

Cleansing and horticulture

Veolia is the company that looks after the grass and flowerbeds that feature in Parliament Square. Veolia also provide the squares’ cleaners who keep the square free of litter and make sure that as much waste as possible is recycled. They help to control litter and waste during events and work closely with Westminster City Council contractors to make sure the area around the square stays clean too.

Maintenance and electrical systems

MITIE Engineering is the company that handles general maintenance and repairs and the square's electrical systems maintenance.

Stonework

David Ball Restoration specialises in the care and maintenance of the stonework and statues on Parliament Square. The company also worked on the complex restoration of Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square, undertaken in 2006.
