Health and Environment Committee

Purpose of committee

The Health and Environment Committee scrutinises the work of the Mayor and investigates matters of importance to Greater London relating to the environment, sustainable development and the promotion of health in London. The Committee is currently investigating the implications of National Health Service Reforms (NHS), food poverty and air pollution.  It is also lobbying for action on previous recommendations including recommendations on: water management and fuel poverty.

 

The Committee is participating in debates and consultations on the environmental impact of transport infrastructure, including the High Speed 2 rail link and London's airports.
