The Assembly is asked agree to the GLA’s Head of Paid Service taking up another role as the interim Chief Executive for the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime on a short term basis whilst recruitment to the post on a substantive basis is taking place.
Minutes:
6.1 The Assembly received the
report of the Executive Director of Secretariat setting out
proposed arrangements for an Interim Chief Executive of the
Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC).
6.2
The Chair explained that this report had been circulated under a
supplementary agenda and that she had agreed to accept the report,
in accordance with section 100(B)(4) of the Local Government Act
1972, as an item of urgent business in order to allow its
consideration at the earliest opportunity.
6.3
Following discussion, the recommendation as set out on the report
was withdrawn.
6.4
Darren Johnson AM proposed and Len Duvall AM seconded the
following motion:
“This Assembly regrets the position the Mayor
has found himself in but we do not consider the interim proposals
for Chief Executive of MOPAC acceptable and call on the Mayor to
seek an alternative interim solution as a matter of extreme
urgency.”
6.5 Resolved:
That the motion, as set out above, be agreed.
