Report of the Executive Director of Secretariat

The Committee is recommended to:

(a)  Note the action taken by the Chair, in consultation with party Group Leads, to agree the scope and terms of reference for the investigation into affordable housing in London, as set out in paragraphs 3.5 to 3.8 of the report; and

(b)  Note the report as background and put questions to the invited guests.

7.1  The Committee received the report of the Executive Director of Secretariat. The following invited guests attended the meeting to answer the Committee’s questions:

·  Rod Cahill, Chief Executive, Catalyst Housing Group;

·  David Montague, Chief Executive, London and Quadrant;

·  Professor Steve Wilcox, University of York; and

·  Richard Donnell, Director of Research, Hometrack

7.2  A transcript of the discussion is attached as Appendix 1.

7.3  Resolved:

(a)  That the action taken by the Chair, in consultation with party Group Leads, to agree the scope and terms of reference for the investigation into affordable housing in London, as set out in paragraphs 3.5 to 3.8 of the report, be noted; and

(b)  That the report as background to the discussion be noted.
