The Health and Environment Committee scrutinised the work of the Mayor and investigated matters of importance to Greater London relating to the environment, sustainable development and the promotion of health in London. The Committee investigated the implications of National Health Service Reforms (NHS), food poverty and air pollution. It also lobbied for action on previous recommendations including recommendations on: water management and fuel poverty.
The Committee participated in debates and consultations on the environmental impact of transport infrastructure, including the High Speed 2 rail link and London's airports.
