Oakervee session on Thames estuary airport off

3 MARCH 2010

Civil engineer Douglas E Oakervee will no longer attend the London Assembly Environment Committee meeting on 11 March.

The Environment Committee will instead use the meeting to examine the Mayor’s Climate Change mitigation and energy strategy.

The Committee was due to discuss the Mayor’s controversial idea of a new airport in the Thames estuary.  However, a letter from Mr Oakervee’s employers[1] has advised that he will be overseas for business reasons.

There are currently no plans to reschedule the session with Mr Oakervee, but the Committee may consider putting a session on the Thames Estuary airport in the future work programme if developments merit it.
