Assembly calls in Copenhagen expert to see what London can learn about climate change

The London Assembly will tomorrow question the Mayor’s environment advisor and an expert from Copenhagen about how the capital can reduce its carbon emissions.

 As part of the Assembly Environment Committee’s scrutiny of the Mayor’s Climate Change Mitigation and Energy Strategy, the following guests will attend:

 From 10am:  Peter Elsman, former Managing Director of the Environment, Water and Energy Department, City of Copenhagen

Copenhagen is seen as one of the world’s most environmentally friendly cities.  The Committee will ask what London can learn from Copenhagen’s approach to climate change.

From 11amIsabel Dedring, Mayor’s Advisor on the Environment

The Committee will ask how the Mayor plans to achieve his ambitious targets for reducing CO2.

 The Environment Committee meeting will take place on Thursday, 11 March from 10am in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
