Richard Tracey, London Assembly member for Merton and Wandsworth, has joined the board of Metropolitan Police Authority at its annual general meeting today.
Speaking after joining as a “link member” for Merton and Wandsworth, Mr Tracey said:
“I am looking forward to getting on with the work of the MPA and acting as the link between the Authority and the boroughs in my constituency.
“Policing in London is challenging, given the continuation of mindless stabbings and murders which are happening almost daily. I will do my utmost in through my role on the Metropolitan Police Authority to make London a safer city.
“In particular as the link to the police authority I’ll be speaking up for my constituents who want to see greater police visibility on their streets, increased levels of public safety and an increase in the number of police patrolling the area.”
