Richard BarnesDeputy MayorRichard was leader of the Conservative Group of the London Assembly in the last administration and previously leader of the Conservative administration in London Borough of Hillingdon. He has a particular interest in health and equality issues. He has a degree in economics from the University of Wales, and speaks Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and French and is learning British Sign Language. Appointed: 6 May 2008
Kit MalthouseDeputy Mayor, PolicingKit is a qualified Chartered Accountant. In 1998 he was elected to Westminster City Council. He has headed up Social Services, been Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet member for Finance. During the five years he remained in this job he increased council reserves by more than £50m and delivered one of the lowest council tax levels in the country. Appointed: 6 May 2008
Sir Simon MiltonDeputy Mayor for Policy and PlanningSimon became Leader of Westminster City Council in May 2000. He has been a City Councillor since 1988. His period of office has included the construction of the Golden Jubilee Bridges, the introduction of four City Academy schools and delivery of the Paddington Basin and Westbourne Green regeneration project.
