London Sustainable Development Commission

Who we are

The Mayor has set up the London Sustainable Development Commission comprising key representatives from the economic, social, environmental and London governance sectors. It is chaired by June Barnes, Chief Executive of East Thames Housing Group. The first meeting of the Commission was held on 21st May 2002.

The Commission has an important role in promoting sustainable development in London and advising on the sustainable nature of London wide strategies, including those produced by the GLA.
