The London Plan provides the Mayor's strategic planning framework. The Mayor is producing more detailed strategic guidance on issues which cannot be addressed in sufficient detail in the plan through Best Practice Guidance (BPG) and Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) documents. They are initially published in draft for consultation.

Following the Mayoral elections in May 2008, the publication schedule for new and revised SPGs, BPGs and other London Plan documents is under review. Please refer to Planning for a Better London for information regarding Mayor of London Boris Johnson's vision for the London Plan and its supporting documents.
