1 in 4 : the London Domestic Violence StrategyIn November 2001 the Mayor launched '1 in 4 : the London Domestic Violence Strategy'. The full strategy may be downloaded using the links below. A second edition of the strategy was published in November 2005. The strategy sets out a vision for effectively addressing the issue of domestic violence and details the specific steps that will be taken to achieve this. Its objective is to create consistent quality responses across London and for agencies to work together in collaboration to address domestic violence more effectively. It contains a number of recommendations for key stakeholders as well as other relevant organisations. The strategy's main aims are:
The London Domestic Violence Strategy is the first citywide response to the problem and has been developed in partnership with the Association of London Government, the Metropolitan Police Service and a wide range of other organisations dealing with the issue. The Mayor has allocated funding in his budget for the monitoring, development and implementation of these proposals and to facilitate the development of the proposals for other statutory and voluntary bodies.
