The Mayor's Health Inequalities Strategy
Consultation questionnaire
This is the very first Health Inequality Strategy to be published for public consultation by the London Mayor. It seeks to address the health inequalities which prevent many Londoners from enjoying their life to the full and making the most of what London has to offer.

The Mayor's vision is to diminish the health inequalities in the Capital by identifying the priorities for reducing them alongside defining the roles of key partners that can help with the strategy's implementation.

We would be grateful if you could take the time to tell us what you think about the Mayor's proposed measures to tackle health inequalities.  We encourage you to read the full version or the executive summary of the Health Inequalities Strategy before completing this survey.

Many thanks,

Health Inequalities Team

To what extent do you agree or disagree that the following measures are going to be effective at reducing health inequalities in London.

  A. Increase access to information so Londoners can take responsibility for their own health and that of people around them (e.g. nutrition education at schools and better display of nutritional content on fast food)
  B. Invest in life skills and education to help people look after their own health (e.g. learning to cook)
  C. Improve access to London's health and social care services for all and in particular those in deprived areas (e.g. by encouraging NHS and Local Authorities to work closer together to identify deprived areas and make sure they are well served by GPs and social workers etc).
  D. Ensure all Londoners, including those on pensions and benefits, have the best possible chance of receiving an appropriate ‘living income’. This would ensure that healthy food and physical activities are affordable to all
  E. Ensure employers have in place employment policies which help them  support their employees through common health complaints, injury or impairment and ensure that those with disabilities are given equal opportunity to gain employment
  F. Ensure London is a healthy place to live by ensuring everyone has access to good quality and appropriately sized accommodation as well as green spaces and reduced noise and air pollution in the surrounding area
Which of the interventions should the Mayor prioritise to have maximum impact on health inequalities in London?  (Please rank the statements from 1 to 5, where 1 is the most important and 5 the least important)
