London Plan Initial Proposals

April 2009

On 29 April 2009, the Mayor launched the next step in his formal review of the London Plan. 

The London Plan Initial Proposals sets out the Mayor’s vision for the capital, his planning objectives and a series of policy directions for London’s development through to 2031, setting the scene for a full draft of the Plan which will be consulted on in the autumn of 2009.

Although the Initial Proposals were prepared for formal consultation with the London Assembly and the GLA Group, the Mayor welcomed informal comments from anyone. The consultation closed on 30 June 2009.

Draft replacement London Plan

In October 2009 the Mayor published his draft replacement London Plan, along with his draft Economic Development and Transport strategies - see Shaping London.
