Inter Regional ForumThe Inter-regional Forum is the Advisory Forum on Regional Planning for London, the South East and East of England. The Forum has 15 members approved by the South East England Regional Assembly (SEERA), the East of England Regional Assembly (EERA) and the Mayor of London. Its role is to advise their respective bodies on planning issues of inter-regional significance. The Forum meets three times a year and its Chair and Secretariat rotate between the three regions as follows:
Meetings are not open to members of the public. However, links to minutes of the meetings are available below. The last meeting was on 20 June 2008. Approaches to growthAt its June 2007 meeting, the Forum agreed to commission a study of the policy and programme implications of growth corridors and sub-regions proposed in the three RSSs (the draft South East England Plan, the draft East of England Plan, and the London Plan), focusing on an area extending to 30 km from the London boundary. The purpose of the study is:
The study is funded by the three regional planning authorities, is managed by EERA and is steered by an officer group drawn from SEERA, EERA, the GLA, Hertfordshire County Council, Surrey County Council and the North London Strategic Alliance. Consultants Robin Thompson Associates and Urban Studio were appointed to undertake the study and their interim findings were discussed at the Forum’s meeting on 15 February 2008. Their final report to the Forum will be discussed at the next meeting on 20 June 2008.
