Draft Mayor's Housing Strategy

The draft Mayor's Housing Strategy was published on 18 September 2007. It sets out the Mayor's policies to address the range of London’s housing challenges and his Strategic Housing Investment Plan, which outlines his approach to investment to support the delivery of new homes. Key aims include providing more affordable homes and more family homes, tackling climate change, helping people on low to middle incomes into home ownership and increasing housing choice and mobility.

The draft strategy is subject to two periods of statutory consultation, first with the London Assembly and then with the public, before being adopted as London’s first statutory housing strategy.

A DVD has been produced, setting out the strategy's key priorities, to increase public awareness and encourage wide participation in the statutory consultation.
