The Greater London Alcohol and Drug Alliance (GLADA)The problems caused by alcohol and drugs are complex and are often best addressed in partnership with individuals, communities, voluntary groups and the business, corporate and public sectors. The Mayor recognises the importance of a partnership approach to reducing alcohol and drug related harm and in 2002 established a unique strategic partnership, the Greater London Alcohol and Drug Alliance (GLADA). GLADA aims to improve collective responses to alcohol and drug problems, and to provide a mechanism to tackle London wide priorities. It is a network of organisations, coming together in order to:
GLADA agrees an annual programme of action to address issues that would benefit from a regional partnership approach. GLADA aims to review the nature and impact of alcohol and drug use in London and has published a number of reports. Women's Expert Advisory GroupGLADA is committed to supporting the meaningful involvement of women affected by alcohol and drugs in issues that affect their lives. They are now working with Black Poppy, London Drug and Alcohol Network and the Stella Project to establish a Women's Expert Advisory Group. This group will draw attention to some of the issues affecting women in London and will develop ideas, advice and solutions.
