Liberty Festival 2008

30 August 2008, 1pm to 6pm

Liberty 2007

Now in it’s sixth year, the Liberty Festival 2008 will see London’s Trafalgar Square transformed into an accessible performance space showcasing the talents of Deaf and disabled artists.

This year’s highlight performance will be the ‘The Medal Ceremony’, an international collaboration that brings inspiring new perspectives to traditional medal ceremonies in a visually exciting production created by artists from disabled-led theatre company Graeae and the world-renowned Strange Fruit.

The exciting programme will continue with themed activities in each of the festival zones:

Liberty is London’s most accessible outdoor festival and a range of facilities and services will be available on the day including:

  • Disability awareness trained stewards
  • Programmes in different formats
  • BSL interpretation and audio description
  • Induction loops at information points
  • Wheelchair loan service
  • Free parking nearby for blue badge holders - limited availability, advance booking required, email: liberty@london.gov.uk
