Disability Capital 2007, the Mayor's Deaf and disability equality conference, is one of the UK's biggest and most important strategic and policy conferences and this year will focus on ‘London, the equal city’. The programme featured debate and discussion about rights and equality - including discrimination law, legal recognition of BSL, the diverse history of disabled and Deaf Londoners, a right to independent living and eugenics and genetic rights. Delegates were able to find out more about disability and Deaf equality in London and engage with Mayoral policies and strategies.
