European Regional Development Fund Operational Programme

The Eurpean Regional Development Fund Operational Programme for London for the period 2007-13 sets out the Mayor of London's proposals for spending the £120 million allocated to London for ERDF as part of the new round of European Structural funds for 2007-2013. The Programme ensures ERDF spend will be focused on London's most pressing needs, drawing on the analysis of the Mayor's Economic Development Strategy, London Plan and Environmental strategies. The Programme also reflects the European Union's strategic priorities for jobs and growth in its Lisbon agenda.

The Programme's proposals have been developed by the London Development Agency on behalf of the Mayor, following consultation with a broad range of stakeholders, and working within guidelines set by the European Commission and central government. A copy of the Operational Programme, its annexes and a report on the consultation are available for download.from the LDA website.

The European Commission accepted the London ERDF Operational Programme for submission in July 2007.

Over the next few months, the European Commission, central Government, and the Mayor of London will discuss and negotiate the London Operational Programme. It is expected this will lead to an approved final version before the end of 2007, and that the Programme will start spending in London in the first half of 2008.
