Veterans' Day

Trafalgar Square, 11am-5pm

Veterans' Day is an event to recognise and celebrate the contribution made by all those who have served in the Armed Forces, and raise public awareness of the issues faced by veterans.

The day features entertainment performances in the bandstand area between 11am-5pm, and an official badge ceremony between 1-2pm.

There'll be talks from veterans in the theatre plus a chance to try on a variety of forces' uniforms in the interactive show area.

You'll be able to try on a variety of uniforms at the HMS Belfast Standand learn about the exhibition Helmland: The Soldier's Story from the National Army Museum, which compares the lives of soldiers now and in the second Afghan war period of 1879.

While you'll also be able to enjoy a short talk from the Ministry of Defence's 'We Were There' exhibition, which highlights the contributions of Britain's ethnic minorities to defence over the past 250 years.

Plus information stands where you'll find organisations such as the War Widows Association of Great Britain, British Forces Foundation and the Army Families Federation amongst others.
